SCOPE OF POSITION

The Pre-Sales Application Consultant will be responsible for successfully advancing and closing the Covarity solution sales opportunities by assisting the sales team in qualifying accounts, answering RFP/RFI's, preparing and delivering solution based product presentations, and delivering proof of concepts which meet customer business requirements.

This includes assisting sales and account management executives in maximizing revenue opportunities through the appropriate application of various solution elements and assisting customers in understanding and recognizing functional/technical advantages of proposed solutions. Cross-group collaboration with Product Management, Product Development and Technical Support teams are essential to success in this role.

The ideal candidate will foster and maintain a culture where customers consider Covarity professional, valuable, and easy to work with.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet with clients and prospects to understand needs, problems, objectives and business pains to drive solution demonstrations that meet key needs
  • Providing pre-sales support through effective value-based presentations, demonstrations and technical expertise/support
  • Assist sales and account management  in developing account strategies and representing the Company at tradeshows and technical conferences
  • Participate in developing proposal content related to application of Covarity solutions
  • Maintain deep knowledge of Covarity solutions
  • Develop sales support resources such as demonstrations and presentations including industry specific content
  • Provide feedback to Covarity product management on ways to make sales and customers more successful
  • Develop, demonstrate proofs of concept and evaluations to prospects
  • Retain current business base & grow market opportunities 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization

  • Process definition, analysis and design abilities
  • Proficient with web based software solutions
  • Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Excellent time management & multi-tasking skills
  • Strong customer service focus with attention to detail
  • Strongly focused and self-motivated to overachieve goals
  • Lending/margining domain expertise would be an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, & Visio
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the United States
  • Able to travel to clients sites up to 25% of your time  

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in finance, business, accounting or related degree
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Experience in a team selling, enterprise-level sales environment is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of and experience with commercial lending processes is a strong asset
  • Knowledge and familiarity with general IT infrastructure and/or banking technology applications is key
